Overview
Curriculum Statement
We want our children to acquire knowledge, skills and a respect for others that will empower them in the future. We strive to consciously create a curriculum that allows children to be aspirational individuals who are given opportunities to develop their confidence and resilience.
Intent
At Summerfield we strongly believe in instilling a love of learning into our children. We aim to provide a curriculum that is experiential, broad and exciting. We want to equip our children with the skills they need to be successful, not just during their time at Summerfield but as they go through life.
Implementation
Staff plan and create engaging lessons which challenge and motivate the children. Strong subject leaders support and inspire their colleagues to ensure a continually progressive curriculum. We utilise opportunities and experiences that enhance the children’s learning. Leaders reflect and evaluate continually in order to improve upon the curriculum. Everything we do is driven by the need to impact positively on the children - academically, socially and emotionally.
Impact
Our children will be knowledgeable, skilful and respectful individuals who are excited about their future. They will be equipped to face any challenges in order to achieve their ambitions, whilst positively contributing to their community.
